Unicorn Stabs The Dragon’s Heart
Otaku Gunba sama left the group at the Golden Horizon. Heading on alone to have a meeting with the leader of the Unicorn Clan’s presence in the City of the Rich Frog, Otaku Ayano sama. When he returned later he noticed his friend had been provided sustenance. Kitsuki Donoha sama had been excited to try Unicorn cuisine and was partaking of beef kebabs with rice, while Akodo Asahi sama had been savoring the selection of river fish on rice.
The discussion shifted to differing topics as Donoha sama would occasionally scan the room’s windows and focus as though he was trying to hear something. While the topics started off in safe territory such as brushes and inks of various qualities. Eventually it turned to the topic of the Kami – Shinjo’s disappearance into the “Land of Shadow” from the tales brought back by the Unicorn. Gunba sama mentioned that none of the tales he read mentioned the “Shadowlands” in the south and eastern sides of the Carpenter’s Wall. A phrase about the “Lying Darkness” was mentioned but its hard to say if it is an Oni, Demon, or something worse.
Donoha sama’s head perked up and he snapped his fingers and head outside drawing his weapons. The Dark Lord appeared in the sky surround by clouds as they pronounce doom upon the city for not heeding his warning about the caravan. Looking at the group he said they will not leave the city alive. Donoha sama did not break the letter of his promise to Togahsi Yokuni sama by uttering a disrespect to the kami. However, he came very close by wondering out loud if they did survive then would it make the Kami of Darkness a liar. Across the Unicorn side of the City of the Rich Frog balls of fire rained down engulfing the city in flames! From where they struck fiery Oni and flaming versions of the shade samurai emerged!
Both the Dragon and Lion fought the flaming samurai specters as their Scorpion companion rained jade justice from the roof of the tea house. All the while keeping the Phoenix and Unicorn safe to perform their magics. The shugenja among them were the absolute wonders. The Phoenix killed an Oni with a single prayer to the Void and a black circle or disc appeared above the Oni’s head. Shredding it’s two story tall form into rice noodles pieces before sucking it withing the void disc!
Leaving only the hands and feet which morphed and undulated into more of the flaming samurai specters. Just then the Unicorn’s spell activated creating 10 clay lions that formed a defensive perimeter around the group from more Oni and more flaming specters. They were easily holding the line against the forces of darkness and shadow. Without warning Donoha sama heard what he believes was the voice of his love. She created a flaming portal and told him to tell everyone the city was lost and if we wanted to survive.
“COWARD!”
Upon learning about the situation the Unicorn shouted at Donoha sama that epitaph. Donoha sama understood and even on an emotional level agreed with how he felt. This group has faced down horrors in both the Phoenix and Dragon lands. When Gunba sama’s lands are endangered they are running! Donoha sama turned and he remembered the promise about their coming mission and one they made to another in the land of the newly dead. He strode over and with the spine of Mittsu Tamashi he knocked out Gunba. This was so Asahi sama and he could grab him and join Hanzo sama and Tamaki sama on the other side.
